Description
The motor has four stainless steel bearings that make sure the motor bell turns smoothly together with the propeller. These bearings can wear down over time and should therefore be changed regularly. If the drive unit makes odd noises or no longer runs smoothly, it’s time to replace the bearings. To change the bearings, you will need a special tool, which we offer along with the Foil Assist upkeep tools. In our Help Center, you will also find a detailed guide and a helpful how-to video on replacing the bearings.
Warning: Rinse the bearings well with fresh water after each use. Let them dry fully, and then put on a thin layer of WD-40 Specialist Penetrant or a similar sea-worthy lubricant to keep them lasting long.
