Classic for all foil boards is that this type of board uses a hydrofoil mounted under the board to lift it above the surface of the water. This significantly reduces drag and provides a smooth and fast experience when floating across the water. Historically, hydrofoil technology was originally used in sailboats, but has now become popular in various water sports such as Wing, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). It's worth noting that foilboards aren't always intended for just one type of water sport; but can actually be used across water sports.
