Lakor Faroese Fisher Knit

This knit is like an echo from the sea and a tale from days gone by woven in wool. The design is inspired by an old picture we found of a Faroese fisherman wearing this type of sweater. A kind of sweater that for centuries has made Danes cast long admiring glances across the North Atlantic to admire Faroese creativity and the craft behind it. The traditional Faroese fishermen’s sweaters were made to keep the wind out and the warmth in on the harsh North Atlantic waters. Our Faroese Fisher Knit is a tribute to the Faroese craft tradition. And it is a loving thought to the time when sailors not only knitted pirate stories together – but also their own sweaters.
