Compared to traditional fin sailing, you have about 70% less resistance on the foil. We were the first brand to realize that it needs a completely different sail design (shape, twist pattern, height-to-width ratio) to suit the low-resistance hydrofoils. The most important factor for performance foil sails is the balance between control and performance/speed over a wide wind range combined with easy handling. Compared to the regular F_PACE, the F_PACE CAM has an extra 6th batten and 2 HYPER CAM 2.0 + 2 SLEEVE INDUCERS. Also, the F_PACE CAM is made for SDM masts. All this results in a much more performance-focused behavior over a large wind range. The tall and narrow outline with a smaller top surface fits perfectly with the low water resistance of the hydrofoil and the nearly absent sideways forces. With less movement at the top, the rig stays steady over the board, for maximum control yet very responsive. The foot closes perfectly with the deck and allows for extreme angles against the wind with the extended foot batten – yet thanks to the deeply curved outline without any negative effect on handling! All sizes now have an XPly top panel. The slightly more flexible XPly improves control in strong winds and keeps the trailing edge steady. Another big improvement to boost control is the smaller shape at batten 6 which moves the main power to the center. In our view, the F_PACE CAM sets a new standard for the balance of control : performance : wind range. And all this combined with easy handling and very smooth turning so that even riders with some experience can pick the F_PACE CAM.
