How to best care for your ION Keysafe:

• Cleaning: Wipe the box with a damp cloth after use, especially after contact with salt water. You can also rinse it with fresh water and dry it thoroughly with a clean towel.
• Lock mechanism: Avoid spraying the lock directly with oil or water. If the code feels stiff, carefully remove sand and dirt from the keys with a soft brush.
• Drying: Always let the keySafe unit dry completely before placing the key inside and closing the box to prevent moisture and condensation.
• Storage: Store the box in a dry, frost-free place when not in use, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to protect the materials.
• General care: Regularly check the shackle and hinges for dirt and damage. Do not remove or replace spare parts yourself - contact the retailer if anything is defective.

What is the ION Keysafe, and what is it used for?

The ION Keysafe is a small, fully metal box with a built-in lock where you can store your car or house key while you’re on the water. It locks onto your car, so you can surf or paddle without hiding your key under the mudflat.

How do I lock my key inside the Keysafe?

Set your own 4-digit code, open the box, put the key inside, and snap the lock shut. Then attach the shackle to, for example, your car door handle or another sturdy part of the car.

Can I choose and change the code myself?

Yes, the code consists of four digits that you choose yourself, and you can change it whenever you need to. ION has a help center guide that shows you step by step how to open and lock the box and reset the code.

Where can I attach the Keysafe?

You can attach it to your car - for example, to the door or roof rack - as well as to a wheel, tire, or trailer. The 8 mm thick stainless steel shackle provides a secure attachment.

Will it damage the car’s paint?

No, the back is lined with foam that rests against the paint and protects it from scratches when the box is attached to the car.

Is there room for my key?

The compact compartment is designed for a standard car or house key. Large key rings or extra accessories may be difficult to fit.

Can I store other things in it?

The Keysafe is primarily intended for keys and small, flat valuables. However, the compact interior doesn’t have room for larger items like wallets or phones.

Does the product come with a warranty?

Yes, ION provides a 12-month warranty on the Keysafe from the delivery date.
