WHAT IS A VECTOR FOIL?
It is a futures foil with a concave on the inside of the front fins, which increases surface area, water connection and lift.
WHAT IS A 3/2 VECTOR
The 3/2 Vector is an addition to the Vector foil, where the top half of the fin has an additional 3 degrees of camber and 2 degrees of toe-in. The foil has a noticeable twist that changes the planing angle in the turn at sharper angles of attack and provides more lift and grip in the turn.
PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES OF THE VECTOR 3/2
The Vector 3/2 is a reinforced speed-generating fin that generates lift and reduces drag by maximizing water connection across multiple planing surfaces. The combined effects of the concave surface from the base to the tip and the twist in the upper half of the fin provide a uniquely positive feeling of grip and projection. In smaller waves, the feeling of speed build-up is fluid and noticeable. In higher waves, the water connection and additional buoyancy characteristics provide a powerful connection of the turns and a higher speed from one turn to the next, resulting in faster surfing and better turns.
ADVANTAGES OF THE SCIMITAR TIP
The Scimitar tip is the flattened edge of the tip at the trailing edge of the fin. By reducing the length of the template, we influence the hold of the fin. The 3/2 fin is designed to generate lift and speed, so the surface area in the tip has been reduced to tighten the curve arc. This template has a large surface area in the base that maximizes the potential of the foil characteristics through the body of the fin and finishes with this final enhancement of the tip to achieve the desired feel of release out of the turn.
As the final component of the Vector 3/2 set, the mid fin template has been specifically designed to deliver thrust in turns while reducing drag and shortening the turn arc. The specific customization is done in the tip area with a refined scimitar shape that is narrower than the side fins and has slightly more rake. The trailing edge is curved deeper inwards and extends the upper half of the fin for a little more flex. Although aesthetically similar to the side fin, the refined center fin provides the perfect amount of response to complement the technical elements of the Vector 3/2 Foil on the side fins.
