SEGMENTED CROSS-SECTION TECHNOLOGY This leads to a great improvement in weight >< stiffness >< durability >< grip-ergonomics/comfort. Weighing between 1.85 to 3.10 kg (depending on length), the PLATINUM SLS are the lightest booms on the market (except for our own PLATINUM AERO booms :-) The secret behind these ultra-light weights lies in the SEGMENTED CROSS-SECTION TECHNOLOGY. Instead of the usual round cross section, the PLATINUM SLS have a highly refined transition of different cross sections:
- The SQUARE FRONT SECTION with a thick wall increases stiffness by about 30%
- The OVAL TAIL SECTION raises lateral stiffness by another 30%
