By moving from the industry’s standard semi-custom technology to an exclusive Full Custom Production, Duotone has achieved a strength-to-weight ratio previously thought impossible. Every single board is built exactly like the thoroughly tested prototypes, ensuring the performance professional riders experience lands right under your feet.

The board was developed using the advanced AI_BOARD_3D software, which made it possible to create the groundbreaking Synced Curves Concept. Here, the outline, rocker, and rails are perfectly synchronized to work together instead of against each other. Ultra Grip is designed for ground swell and classic wave conditions like those in South Africa, Maui, or Ireland, where radical turns and control are key.

The three main shape innovations include:

• Stable yet Radical Concept: The board is 1-2 cm wider than typical waveboards. This gives stability like a board with 5 liters more volume when you drift, but it turns as radically as a board with 5 liters less.
• 3-Stage Rocker: A segmented rocker line with a flat section between the straps for stability, an early nose rocker for bottom turns, and a Kickstarter Tail that provides explosive acceleration and extremely sharp top turns.
• Synced Curves: Increased curvature in the outline, rocker, and rail around the mast track makes it easier to initiate turns, while increased curvature behind the back strap maximizes control in top turns.

The difference between Ultra Grip and Grip:

While Grip is optimized for typical European conditions and the North Sea (perfect for places like Klitmøller), the Ultra Grip is specialized for cleaner wave conditions with ground swell, where turns need to be even more radical and precise.
