Maintaining your windsurf fin

Rinse the fin in fresh water after every session, especially after sailing in salt water, and remove sand and dirt from the fin base before putting it back in the fin box. Always dry the fin in the shade and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as UV rays can gradually damage the carbon material and surface.

Avoid leaving the fin pressed hard against sharp objects or rocks, as impacts and scratches can damage the carbon construction. Store the fin in a dry, cool place - preferably in a fin bag or the original packaging - and never leave it in a hot car or near heat sources. Regularly check the fin base and edge for cracks, and make sure the fin is securely fastened in the fin box before going on the water. With a little care, the fin will maintain its performance for many seasons.

What is the Duotone Fin Race D/LAB (Tuttle)?

It is Duotone's high-end slalom and freerace fin, built with carbon D/LAB quality and Molded Prepreg Technology. The fin is designed for maximum speed, lift and control in demanding conditions.

What sizes is the fin available in?

The Fin Race D/LAB (Tuttle) is available in eight sizes from 32 to 46 cm. Choose the size based on your sail and board type.

Is the fin compatible with my windsurf board?

The fin has a Tuttle base and is recommended for all freerace and slalom boards. Check that your board has a Tuttle fin box before ordering.

What is Molded Prepreg Technology?

It is an advanced fin construction in which individually oriented carbon layers provide an ultra-stiff base combined with finely tuned tip flex. This ensures a quick response and a high level of control on the water.

Is the fin only for professional racers?

No. The design is PWA-approved, but deliberately made easy to sail, so it works for both competitive sailors and ambitious freerace sailors who want to upgrade their board.

Who designed the fin?

The fin was designed by Dani Aeberli, who used the D/LAB construction to create the thinnest profile in Duotone's fin range for minimal drag and maximum top speed.

How do I maintain the fin?

Does the fin come with a warranty?
