Caring for your Front Traction Pad

How to keep your EVA traction pad in top shape for many sessions:

• Cleaning: Rinse the pad with fresh water after using it in salt water to remove salt and dirt. For stubborn dirt, use mild soap and a soft cloth or brush - avoid harsh chemicals, solvents and pressure washers, as they can break down the foam and adhesive.
• Drying: Let the pad air-dry completely in the shade or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and heat sources such as radiators, as heat can damage the EVA foam and adhesive.
• Storage: Store the pad (or the board with the pad) in a cool, dry place, laid flat - not rolled or compressed, as this can leave permanent marks in the foam. Avoid hot cars and direct sunlight during storage.
• Installation tip: Make sure the board surface is clean, dry and free of grease before attaching the pad - this gives you the best and most durable bond.
• Inspection: Check the edges and adhesive regularly for lifting, and press down any loose areas or reattach them with a suitable contact adhesive.

What is the Duotone Traction Pad Front?

It’s a front pad for Duotone kiteboards, made up of four pieces of 5 mm EVA foam. It gives you grip, comfort, and stability where you place your front foot on the board.

How do I install the pad on my board?

The pad comes with a self-adhesive backing, so the glue is already applied. Clean the board thoroughly, dry it, remove the protective films, and press the pieces firmly into place one at a time.

How thick is the pad, and why is that important?

The pad is 5 mm thick. This thickness provides soft cushioning that absorbs shocks and pressure for both your feet and the board, without making you lose your feel for the board.
