Maintaining ION Roof Straps

Rinse the straps with fresh water after use, especially if they’ve been in contact with salt water - salt can degrade the webbing and buckles over time. Let them air-dry completely in the shade, and avoid tumble dryers, heaters and direct sunlight, as high heat can damage both polyamide and neoprene.

Clean them as needed with mild soap and lukewarm water, and avoid fabric softener, bleach and chemical cleaners. Neatly place the straps in the included bag once they’re completely dry, and store them somewhere cool and dry.

Regularly check the webbing and metal buckles for wear, fraying or cracks before securing your gear. Replace straps immediately if they show signs of damage - your safety on the road depends on it.
