Description

The ION Slash Core Helmet is a thoughtfully designed watersports helmet for everyone who lives on and beneath the water's surface – from kitesurfing and wakeboarding to foiling and windsurfing. Developed in collaboration with WIP, it's one of ION's top models, where comfort and protection go hand in hand. Whether you're new to the water or have many seasons under your belt, you get a helmet that stays put and feels lightweight all day.

At the heart of the Slash Core is ION's 360° Fit system: While regular helmets can only be adjusted at the back, the headband goes all the way around the head from back to front. This means the helmet accounts for the entire circumference and shape of your head instead of just pressing it against the front – with less movement while riding and during crashes, as well as more even pressure distribution. The inner shell is made of EPP foam, which absorbs impacts again and again, keeping the helmet reliable even after many hours of use. The adjustable headband expands the size range, so you only need to choose between two sizes.

    Maintaining your ION Slash Core Helmet

    How to keep your helmet in top shape season after season:

    • Cleaning: Rinse the helmet with fresh, lukewarm water after use in salt water, then wipe it with a soft cloth. Avoid strong cleaning products, solvents and scrubbing brushes - they can damage the shell and strap materials.
    • Drying: Let the helmet air-dry at room temperature with the pads removed or turned over so moisture can escape. Never use heaters, hair dryers or direct sunlight to speed up drying.
    • Storage: Store the helmet in a dry, cool, dark place when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and high temperatures, such as in a closed car, as this can degrade the materials.
    • General care: Regularly check the shell, straps and buckle for wear or cracks. Rinsing with fresh water after every session and storing it properly will significantly extend the helmet's lifespan.
