Pro surfer and world champion Edouard Delpero and shaper Alain Minvielle worked on this shape,
A Pig shape shifts the wide tip from the center to the back, which has two distinct advantages: the wide tail anchors better in the curl, which supports noserides, instead of relying on the wide glide area at the front of a typical noserider shape. This smaller nose area makes the Pigs more responsive on the nose for small adjustments and technical noseriding.
The other effect is the hip in the plan shape. The curvature of the outline in the last third of the board. This creates a much more responsive turning point than the usual straight rails of traditional noseriders and allows for much faster directional changes.
The Minvielle ED Pig also has a knifed deck rail in the tail to keep the thickness of the board underfoot, but it's a super responsive rail shape for maneuvering a big board.
I've added the ED Pig to my quiver for noseride events when the waves are clean and lined up. I can hold the noseride longer and get back in the pocket quickly when the wave slows down.

Torq Epoxy Composite offers high performance shapes in our state of the art epoxy layup. These boards offer the best balance between lightness and durability. With our own unique lamination process we are able to use a very strong 6oz and 4oz fiberglass layup in a three layer deck and a two layer base (with a four layer rail overlap) with a high density EPS foam and still achieve a board weight equivalent to a lightweight fiberglass layup.
The result is a lightweight but very stable board with good flex characteristics and as with all torq's an excellent price/performance ratio.
